This is the next Gauntlet.
It seems that everyone needs to get busy talking about what they're creating and where they're showing.
I had a conversation with some friends about updating blogs and it soon was brought to my attention that I bug A LOT of artists about keeping updates on what they're currently creating. I guess it's not bugging them too much because I still get invited over for dinner.
I read a lot of blogs and twitters about my favorite established artists and see them constantly posting and hosting pictures of their progress. I know they're more successful and can probably afford that luxury more than we can because we're all just trying to make ends meet during current economic issues but I'm starting to feel that we need to get on the ball if we are going to get the world to notice how many amazing artists we have here in Dallas.
For instance Kristian Donaldson has been diligently working on a graphic novel but due to his busy schedule, the common fan wouldn't know what great things are coming. I don't mean to pick on him but this is an actual conversation we had so I know he sympathizes.
There are too many of us that do this and it needs to stop NOW!
I post a lot here but I also keep a lot of projects secret until I can show you things: No more. I'm going to step up and lead the charge. A friend pointed out that I'm the local cheer leader (another called me the fairy god mother) so I'm going to rally you to join me in making as much noise as we can. I'm going to hold myself accountable by showing you what I'm working on ALL THE TIME so you can see what you can look forward to and can bust me on, if I don't produce. Myspace is not enough. Facebook is not enough. Those are your friends. They're great but we need to reach out to the new kids too. I'm going to twitter,blog, beg, shout and scream so loud they'll hear me outside of Texas and ask that ALL my fellow artist do the same. I know some of you already do so you have my thanks so I'll need to you help spread the word and help each other out. We have too much to talk about and show to be this quiet. I'm tired of sitting down. I want to dance! Dance with me sweetheart, DANCE WITH ME!
HA...but I won't show all of it. This is just a tease until the 3rd date.
